Dreamweaver Tutorial

We will spend several lessons working on different aspects of this site, which features the our work of Robin Eschner, who graciously agreed to that me to redesign the site with my friend Dabby Chang, and to features her paintings in the video.

As we can enter in more advanced lessons, in this series, you will learn how to create roll overt like these using dreamweaver’s behaviors, which use cheiroscope to create many interactive features.

Over the years the web design has evolved dramatically. In the early days we could only create very simple website like this one, with static photos and text. In fact, in really early day’s, you couldn’t even align an image to the left and have the text wrapped up next to it.

Once you get everything just the way you wanted in your designs you shouldn’t have to redo that work over and over again.

That’s were dynamic web templates come in. They make it easy to create new pages and to make global updates when things change. I’ll also show you how to use dynamic web templates. To automate the process of creating a series of pages like these painting pages, that are linked from Robin’s card and print section. We move on to some of Dreamweaver’s more advanced features including behaviors which let you create cool effects like roll over images, pop up windows and more.

How to insert rollover images in Dreamweaver. The first thing you need to do is to prepare the images that you want to use as your rollover images. In this case I have selected some buttons and made them in Photoshop and I’ve created a normal stage and an over stage for each of the buttons I want to use, so here’s an example of those.

And these are the numbers. We have the primary, secondary and the terciary. And usually we only need to use the first 2. But what you would do if you were to choose this company is copy these one by one and paste them in to the name server box.

‘Copy’ - ‘Paste’ and then you click ‘Save’. What this would do is make your domain name point to this web hosting company servers. And it takes about 24 hours for this information to matriculate through the internet so -uh- this takes a little bit of time once you make these changes.
