There are some very useful icons here for editing your code and we will look at those in later tutorials.

So for the moment let us just stay in design mode. Now I have mentioned that these three buttons are available in the document toolbar. And just to remind you, toolbars are made visible by going to View the Toolbars. And here you will see that the document toolbar is checked because it is currently visible.

One of the basic features within DreamWeaver is the ability to work in either code, design or split view.

When working in design view elements that you place on the page are shown within DreamWeaver approximately, as they will be displayed in the browser window. So for example if I insert an image, you will notice that the image immediately displays approximately as it will within the browser window. How to switch now to split view? And you can see that the image is highlighted having just been inserted it is also highlighted in code.

I see edit right to the page. One thing that you should notice, dreamweaver has, these new CSS layout, have a lot of committed codes, and CSS, that actually is a great learning tool for you when you are studying to your work with CSS, including entire series of tips, for working with elastic layouts.

You can also drag a collapse section with in the same document. To re-expand the collapse section or code just click on the expand button next to the code or click the expand all button in the coding toolbar.

If there is more than one section of collapse code using the expand all button will expand all of them. Another way to work with code collapse is to collapse everything else inside the code selection. Make a selection of code…then click the collapse selection button and at the same time press the ALT key if you are working in windows or the option key if you are using a Mac.

Code collapse enables you to hide sections of codes so that you can view and edit different sections of the document without having to scroll the document window.
