Hi, there. Macostim here from dreamweaver beginner tips. One of the questions I get asked a lot from our dreamweaver made simple and dreamweaver beginner tips customers are, “How do I optimize an image for the web?”
Well, I thought to make this quick, short, simple tutorial to show exactly how to do that using photoshop. So let’s start off with this photo of me and Larry, the camel, but I took while as a tour in India. The first thing we wanna do is actually to change the size of the image because changing the physical dimensions of the image lets you make a difference to the fall size. So we start by clicking up on image, clicking on image size, and then setting a new size. Now, images for the web don’t need to be very big. As you can see, this is hardly 2048 pixels, I considering that the average sort of website is generally only 800 pixels wide. That’s far too big. So we could easily make this a nice and compact 350 pixels.
I then click OK. It’s made the pixel look really small. So, instead, what we’ll do is click on view and click on actual pixels. Now that we’ve done that, it is showing us the picture in the actual pixel size.
