Whereas the coder interface as you can see sort of from this little thumbnail preview is – Set to work with code which is mostly text in much less of a vis- a- vig environment.
Don’t panic it is not really a big deal which option that you set here because later you can go in with the preferences and change it so one day you are the designer the other coder who knows. So I’m going to click ‘OK’ and it is going to go ahead and launch the application – oops! Just kidding. It is going to ask me to register which I don’t want to be reminded again. Then the application is going to load. So I set this up as the designer workspace.
But if I go to the ‘Edit’ menu and come down to ‘Preferences’ right here under the ‘General’ category is a button that says ‘change workspace’. And it brings you right back to that same window, let us choose ‘coder’ this time, click ‘ok’. And that is fine you want to be a coder restart Dreamweaver. Let us just do that for fun and I’m going to quit come back up under the menu there launch Dreamweaver again.
Now things have changed slightly you notice that the – this whole section instead of being here on the right hand side of the screen is now on the left. There are other changes as well but I’m not going to get into them right now. I just want you to know that you do have this option of changing in between designer and coder workspace. Throughout this entire CD I’m going to pretend I’m a designer.
Tomorrow hey! May be I will be a coder, who knows? So just knowing that that option is available to you under the Windows version only, by the way guys, is an important thing especially when you are starting to use Dreamweaver for the first time.
In case you didn’t see the video in part 1 of this series… here it is again.
