But again one of the concept of working with flash is that it requires a plug in so some body doesn’t have the flash plug in installed on his/her computer they wont be able to see the flash buttons.
But that’s really becoming less and less issues these days as more and more people are getting flash plug-ins installed in their computers by default. By the time you buy your computers flash plug-ins are installed and even in flash so many times in the day its becoming less likely that somebody wont have the plug-in installed. Lets see how we do this i am gonna open the folder of our products and there we will find open up and we have set this black navigation area that click into and we will use that as a place holder for the flash button which we are gonna create.
To do so we are gonna come up to the common area of the insert bar media button and there I am gonna choose flash button which opens the flash button dialog box here WE see little samples at the top and using that we can browse through all the different types of flash buttons that are available. Rolling over quickly will give little preview of roll over interaction that’s gonna go boring here and choose double rectangle tingle green. Next we are gonna add our button text and this example say we are doing about us, we can choose a font and again if you have the font installed in your computer you can use it. Now just go through churn reduce the size at 12 we can browse for what this button will link to and in this case we are linking to a HTML.
We can choose a background color for the button now a button like this its rectangular reedy we probable don’t need to be too concerned with the background color but for some weirdly shaped buttons like this the background color will show through so. It’s important to choose the background color that matches background color where we have been placed the button. So in this case i am gonna sample that background color right there I am gonna just leave this button as it is. You can modify specific name if you wanted to and click on OK.
There is the button which is asking to give just a title and lets call this About us for alternate text and there it is we gonna save this and we are gonna preview this in our browser and there it is i didn’t even have to choose a over or anything like that i have this about us button.
So there is the off state or the outstate and for rollover there is over i clicked downed and hold now there is just got in over down state too. So it is multi state button and off course if i click and release on it takes me to the about us HTML page so its very easy to create a flash button for editing it i can just click it so if I decide this should have been the about T button. You can change that if i want to change the button itself all together in something like that, or some thing crazy like start spinner click on OK there is that button.
Now you can see why it was important that i chose the background color there save that and preview that in the browser and there it is you can see the star spins when i roll over it when i click it actually gets bigger and when i click it still takes me to that page.
That’s how we insert a flash button again its a very easy way to create a very quick rollover in dreamweaver, and i can easily to start adding more buttons and create my entire navigation bar very quickly.
In case you didn’t see the video in part 1 of this series… here it is again.
